The Department of Health & Aged Care released the 2024-25 budget yesterday, which included this .pdf overview that breaks down the 10 billion budget into the following areas:

The Department of Health and Aged Care has released the Medical 2023 National Health Workforce Dataset (NHWDS). 

Data in the NHWDS includes demographic and employment information for registered health professionals based on the annual national registration process of fifteen health professions.

It also contains the Medical Education and Training (MET) Data Collection that reports the annual changes in medical education and training in Australia.

This information can assist Australian governments and medical education stakeholders in responding to medical workforce trends and optimise the health of all Australians.

The ‘2023 Health Workforce Needs Assessment’ is now available!

Undertaken by Health Workforce Queensland, it contains the results of an annual state-wide ‘all of health’ workforce needs assessment for remote and rural Queensland.

The report provides an update on current and emerging issues, and identifies primary care gaps and priority areas by Primary Health Network (PHN) region.
