QUICK MANAGEMENT TIP
EOI Amnesty Application Due In Under Three Weeks
Is payroll tax for contracted General Practitioners on your list of things to review?
For those practices in Queensland, the Queensland Revenue Office has produced a handy fact sheet regarding the payroll tax amnesty on payments made to contracted GPs until the end of the 2024 – 2025 financial year.
The workflow illustrates the application stages, which include completing an Expression of Interest (EOI) form in less than three weeks from now.

An EOI application doesn’t automatically make you liable for payroll tax, but it does assist businesses operating medical practices to move towards compliance if required.
However, if an EOI is not submitted by 10 November 2023, and afterwards you are liable for payroll tax on your contracted GP payments, you’ll have to pay the entire tax amount, interest and any penalties.

A Month For Mental Health
Outside of identifying goals, developing strategies and measuring KPIs it’s wise to stop and celebrate our achievements.
By pausing to reflect on our wins and those of others, we can reduce stress, boosting self-worth, building a cohesive workplace and buffer against challenges ahead.
Shouting a colleague a coffee, sending a congratulatory email or giving a high five for small wins are all good places to start.
We can also remind ourselves that it’s okay to ask for help and that resources are available 24/7, such as Lifeline (13 1114) and Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636).
Handy Hint
Inactive Google Account?
Google announced earlier this year that it will start deleting Google accounts that have been inactive for two years.
Some Gmail addresses are created, used during the setup of a practice Google Business listing and then remain unused. As such it is wise to check what email accounts are associated with other areas of your business, such as your Google Business listing.
Once Google starts deleting accounts from December 2023, the Gmail address of the deleted account is no longer accessible to create a new Google account. To keep a Google Account active, Google account holders will need to sign in at least once every two years.
